rue / living room updates

i've shared a lot of little snippets of my living room on instagram, and everything was shown on rue- but i thought i'd share all of the updates here. i didn't change too much, just a little sprucing. added some pillows and plants, borrowed an awesome chair from bobette to fill the empty space that needs a chair really badly (any suggestions?? it needs to be comfortable and small and really cute. plus affordable).

newborn photos / cannon william ford

i was so lucky to be able to take this cute family's pictures. they are our good friends, and i'm so excited that they have a little boy just two months younger than jay- we have already decided they will be best friends. little cannon was adorable and wide awake this whole shoot. we took the pictures in their perfectly remodeled house- i'm in love with the nursery and the four poster bed in the master bedroom! family pictures might just be my favorite.

table for two

sometimes bobette gets a bunch of new toys and plays with them all day long. by toys i mean decorations and dinnerware, and by play i mean make pretty tablesettings. it's her gift/curse. but we get to reap the benefits with all of the cute things she comes up with! she sent me a bunch of pictures of a little table for two she set in the backyard and i begged her to let me post them so you guy could see all the details and maybe even recreate the look for yourselves. of course i didn't really have to beg her, she happily obliged because she's nice like that.

aren't all those colors together just dreamy? oh wait, obviously i love that combo because it's what i used in jay's nursery. ps. she found that gold flatware at home goods for half the price of the west elm set that i have (it's the exact same!). so run to your nearest homegoods and scour the place until you find them, it will be worth it i promise!

diy / wall hanging

i know, i'm like super trendy. wall hangings are all the rage right now and i knew i could make one for super cheap and make a major statement with it. and as you know, cheap+statement-making is my forte (see my rorschach wall hangings, and plus sign curtains). i spent less than $10 on this project and used some stuff i already had (or found in my mom's wedding inventory). i love how it turned out. you could do so many different things with it and in so many different colors.

bedroom updates!

the new rue magazine is out today and my house is featured (as if you haven't heard- i can't stop talking about it and i'm sorry! i'm sure i'll be past it by the end of this year:). since i made lots of little updates i'm going to show you room by room with all the dirty details. my bedroom was in pretty good shape before, but there were lots of things that i planned to work on. somehow it got kind of neglected and was the last thing i really finished. (of course besides my kitchen).
