i was so lucky to be able to take this cute family's pictures. they are our good friends, and i'm so excited that they have a little boy just two months younger than jay- we have already decided they will be best friends. little cannon was adorable and wide awake this whole shoot. we took the pictures in their perfectly remodeled house- i'm in love with the nursery and the four poster bed in the master bedroom! family pictures might just be my favorite.
i did a mini-session with this cute little family during the extended family photos i took at balboa park over christmas break. their little boy was adorable- he has so much personality and was a blast to take pictures of. and seriously, a mini-curly-mohawk?? to die for.
jarman is on his last week of winter break and i never want him to go back to school. the first couple of weeks it was rainy and cold (even snowed in temecula in case you didn't hear), but this week has been so nice. we have already been to the beach twice. on monday we went with my mom and sisters and ended up taking some family pictures. i really wanted to hire a photographer to take pictures for us when jay was born, but it didn't work out. so i just make people take lots of pictures of us when we get the chance! if i had planned on doing these pics i probably would have done my hair, maybe worn a bit more make up and coordinated our outfits a little more. but i kind of love how they turned out- they have a soft, ethereal feel. looking at them makes me feel warm and cozy inside. it was jay's first beach day we captured it perfectly.
i have had the opportunity to take senior pictures for a few of great oak's seniors. it has been so much fun! how adorable are these kids? it was hard to get a bad picture of them! thanks so much corinne and chase for letting me take your pics!
i'm not gonna lie, before i got pregnant jarman used to make fun of all pictures of pregnant women because they were always holding their bellies and looking down. so typical, right? but since being pregnant i've discovered that these women weren't holding their bellies because they were heavy, but rather to define them and make them look more like a baby belly rather than looking like a big fat blob. which is what we pregnant women feel like most of the time. i'm not sure what the looking down thing is all about- maybe to show how much we love our little babies? maybe we are giving them death glares to stop kicking our ribs? maybe our heads have gotten weak like the rest of our bodies and we can't muster the strength to lift them up? whatever the reason- i'll totally understand if you make fun of these photos. because i have been there.
jarman actually took these for me and did a fabulous job (when he wasn't distracted by watching the waves). of course, my tripod had been misplaced when we took them so we didn't get as many of the two (three?) of us as i would have liked (don't worry- it has since been located in one of jarman's drawers in his closet. i doubt that's a coincidence- he hates taking pictures even though he is so photogenic). we took them at a little spot in la jolla and got some of the coolest sunset pics. it was a perfect evening.
after we finished, some chinese people saw me and asked to take pictures of me too. they were like paparazzi and wouldn't let me leave. they also told me that i had to take nude pictures while i'm pregnant or else i will regret it. the old grandpa was especially enthusiastic about this. don't plan on seeing pics like that anytime soon- it's so not happening!
