photoshoot / geddie's family pictures

i got to take this cute family's pictures last week- i loved hanging out with all their boys! they had so much energy- which i'm going to have to get used to with my little boy on the way! we took these pictures at windansea beach. jarman and i have been going here since we moved to san diego, and i was immediately obsessed with the little beach shack. i had been hoping to get to do a photoshoot there, so when the geddie's said they wanted to do their pictures at a beach in la jolla i immediately knew this is where we should do them.

i still have 5 weeks until baby is due and am starting to get stir crazy. i pretty much have everything ready and now it's just a waiting game! (possibly the worst and least fun game of all!). so contact me if you need any pictures done- i'd love to have something to distract me (and possibly help get things moving along:).

bridal session / mkaul and tyler

this summer i had the chance to do my very first bridal session and first real reception (i've photographed lots of receptions before but was never the official photographer). it was so much fun and such a good learning experience. the bridal session was my favorite though. mkaul and tyler's wedding had a carnival theme, and they let me come up with ideas for the bridal shoot. those are my favorite shoots- the ones where i have total control and can choose props, locations etc. the first location for the bridals was in a soda shop in old town temecula. i loved that it had bright colors and went along with the carnival theme.

our second location may have been my favorite. i got it in my head that i wanted a carousel horse in the pictures. naturally. so my mom and i went to granny's attic in hopes that they would have one. we first found a full sized carved gold and white horse- but it was $300. i asked if i could just borrow it and the lady all but laughed in my face- worth a try though right? then my mom came upon this little white horse on a pole. the bride wouldn't be able to sit on it, but it still worked for what i was looking for. at 35 bucks it was a winner. for a location i really wanted a red and white striped circus tent. we drove around and found this little old red fire house. it was fate. this is for sure my favorite part of the shoot.

for our last location we walked around a block in old town. i had a giant balloon with fringe garland to use on the bridge, but it was way too windy so we just gave it up. i love the industrial vibe of these last ones though.

thank you so much mkaul and tyler for letting me take your pictures! stay tuned for the details of their gorgeous reception!

photo shoot / child's family pictures

i had the pleasure of taking the child's family pictures a couple of weeks ago. they are adorable and hilarious, and quite honestly easy to take pictures of because they are all so cute! the littlest boy, josh, just kills me with all of his smiles and smirks.

photo shoot / adelaide's newborn pictures

i was so excited to have the opportunity to take nicole and eric's family pictures of their new baby girl, adelaide. she is the most adorable and tiny baby ever- the dream client. we took the pictures at nicole's mom's house when adelaide was about 2 1/2 weeks old.

from my camera / pacific beach and la jolla

well i'm back from a long break! the past week has been a whirlwind of emotions, we have had so many changes in our family (for better and worse) that i needed to focus on other things. i am excited to be back though and have lots of fun posts planned for this week.

today is my birthday!! i'm 24 now, which i am actually happy about. for some reason telling people i was 23 made me feel like such a baby who thought they had it all together. 24 is going to be a good year for me! this weekend jarman started off the festivities with a bang. he got us a hotel in la jolla for the night, and took me shopping and to dinner. it was hilarious seeing him try to make it through fashion valley mall with a very excitable me. but he survived to tell the tale.

the next morning we headed over to pacific beach (where jarman thinks we should move during law school). it was actually really pretty! i felt like i always hear about the bad reputation of pb- it's the party/drunk scene for younger people (which i am not anymore- as of today!). i loved it though- of course i would be totally happy to live in any beach city.

after pb, we went to the la jolla tide pools. i have such fond memories of visiting tide pools as a kid, and it was really just as fun as an adult. la jolla has always been my dream city. we had such a fun time staying there.
